Here are a few of the things that have been making me happy lately . . .
This Is 40
Have you seen this movie? If you are married, have kids, or are nearing 40, I highly recommend it! My husband and I do not usually agree when it comes to movies, so when our tastes overlap it is always a rare and special treat. We both loved this movie—it made us laugh, cry, and even squirm at a few points. It’s dead on, which might scare you (warning) if you are not already dealing with some of these things! But for those of us who are, Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, and their super cute family (plus the amazing Paul Rudd) provide some much-needed comic relief and perspective.
Oh Joy!’s Words of Wisdom
As you know, I’ve been thinking a lot about creative entrepreneurship lately, and last night I read this great two-part post (part 1 and part 2) from Joy Cho of Oh Joy!. She talks about being a “goal-getter” and how she initiated the majority of the jobs/opportunities she has had in her career. Cute drawings, too.
Amy Cuddy and the Wonder Woman Pose
I’ve been meaning to post about this for a while because it is AWESOME! I do not often invest my time in TED talks (20 minutes seems so much to give!), but this one is amazing.

Two minutes of standing like Wonder Woman, or with your arms raised, palms upward, can literally change you. Stick around to the end of the talk, too, when Amy Cuddy shares her own story of hardship, how she fought her way into academia even though she didn’t feel she belonged, and how she went on to help others.
Happy Friday!
